Al-Risalah Institute for Islamic Studies Islamic Boarding School has established an academic collaboration with Lisafa Centre in organizing offline lectures for doctoral students in Aqidah and Islamic Philosophy. This program is specifically designed for second-semester doctoral students of the State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta as part of strengthening the academic process through institutional collaboration.
These face-to-face lectures are conducted within the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta campus and involve lecturers who are experts in the fields of Aqidah and Islamic Philosophy. Through this learning scheme, students gain in-depth understanding of the subject matter, engage in critical discussions, and enrich their scholarly perspectives relevant to contemporary Islamic philosophical and theological studies.
In addition to attending formal lectures during the day, the students also participate in additional academic activities in the evening. These sessions are facilitated by academic mentors from Risalatuna, who provide dedicated guidance in a more intensive and dialogical learning atmosphere.
The evening sessions focus on strengthening academic writing skills, which are a core competence in doctoral education. Students are guided to understand the principles of scholarly writing, proper management of academic references, and the development of systematic and logical academic arguments.
Furthermore, the participants receive special mentoring related to the methodology and strategies for dissertation writing. The discussions cover the selection of research topics, formulation of research problems, development of conceptual frameworks, and writing techniques that meet international academic standards.
During their stay at Al-Risalah Institute, the students are also introduced to Indonesian culture and traditions. This process plays an important role in broadening their perspectives, particularly in understanding the social and cultural contexts that influence the development of Islamic thought in Indonesia.
Yogyakarta was chosen as the location for this program due to its reputation as a center of education and culture. Through direct interaction with the local environment and community, students are expected not only to develop academically but also to gain a more comprehensive understanding of Indonesia’s distinctive and diverse cultural values.
